Hilde Elbers dances with, among other companies, Conny Janssen Danst and T.r.a.s.h.. She is now with DansBrabant and she creates work which is characterised by an intense and powerful movement language in which she dissects the psyche and exposes human vulnerability. For Distinguished Dreams #3, she is working with the ‘word artist’ Dichter (poet Ferewe van Vugt). The singer-songwriter originally came from Ethiopia but grew-up in the Netherlands where he now produces hip hop music. The young artist previously worked with visual artists and designers for his widely-praised debut album, Nieuw Leven [‘New Life’].
In this third ‘edition’ of Distinguished Dreams - a production of the Dutch Dance Days, dance meets an entirely different art form. Rising and established singer-songwriters, Marike Jager, Dichter and Chai Blaq share the stage with the new generation of Dutch choreographers, Shailesh Bahoran, Hilde Elbers and Jesús de Vega. They will be creating an intimate performance in the Dutch Dance Festival pop-up store in the town centre with six surprising dance-pop songs. The six dance pop-songs can be seen in pairs after each other.
For this production, the Dutch Dance Festival is collaborating with the Motel Mozaique Festival from Rotterdam and the pop venue the Muziekgieterij in Maastricht.
